Strategic Communications Assistant Director

About the Role:
New Avenues for Youth is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Director of Communications to join our Development team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to lift young people facing houselessness and provide them with the skills and resources to lead healthy, independent lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement our social media strategy, creating and publishing engaging content to reach new audiences.
- Develop marketing materials, ensuring organization-wide brand consistency, and working with programs to create flyers and other materials for youth.
- Update our website content, brainstorming and implementing ways to better share our stories.
- Coordinate with outside vendors, including printers, graphic designers, photographers, and videographers, to support marketing and communications projects.
- Support fundraising events, designing materials and acting as a team player to help make them happen.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of five years' experience in development/marketing and/or communications.
- Experience working in the non-profit sector is preferred.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design programs is a must, with basic video editing skills a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and remain flexible.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a positive and flexible attitude, and the ability to work independently and take initiative.
