Position Overview - The Project Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial management of designated projects, ensuring precise financial reporting, budgeting, and adherence to applicable regulations. This position requires effective collaboration with project leaders, the accounting department, and various stakeholders to facilitate the successful financial oversight of projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise all financial elements of assigned projects
  • Develop, track, and revise project budgets and forecasts
  • Guarantee prompt and precise billing and revenue acknowledgment
  • Oversee monthly project billing processes by monitoring lien releases, managing payment timelines, and utilizing payment platforms for client project management
  • Work in conjunction with Project Managers to maintain and update all project details in the project management system
  • Administer project-related cash flow, including invoicing and collections
  • Compile and present financial reports to project leaders and upper management
  • Provide consistent updates on the financial status of projects, including variance analysis and identification of financial risks
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints
  • Review and authorize project-related invoices and purchase orders
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for cost savings
  • Assist with both internal and external audits concerning project finances
  • Maintain precise and organized financial documentation for all assigned projects
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to offer financial insights and support
  • Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure consistency with overall corporate financial objectives
  • Support the creation and execution of financial processes and systems
  • Other related responsibilities as required
