About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to lead our State Health Solutions and Partnerships initiative. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to address complex health challenges in state governments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, and aligns with our organization's goals and values.
  • Develop and oversee the overall project workplan to meet project objectives and deliverables, and assist the project director in strategy development, identifying milestones, and tracking progress toward goals.
  • Support the project director in identifying future opportunities and strategic planning for the project.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of subject matter, including policy landscapes, key stakeholders, and trends.
  • Apply experience and knowledge in working with state government agencies to develop engagement plans for the recruitment of states to execute partnership agreements for implementing our blueprint for data partnerships between state Medicaid and public health agencies.
  • Manage overall strategic planning for operations and technical assistance that supports partner states in implementing the blueprint.
  • Manage officer and state campaign senior associates by overseeing their tasks and supporting their professional development.
  • Manage relationships with external state-level stakeholders and partnerships.
  • Serve as a media and public spokesperson for the subject.
  • Participate in activities that support program and organization-wide objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Generally, eight years of applicable experience in state health and/or public health policy, including demonstrated project management and coordination skills working with state government agency partners, and experience executing objectives to advance policy changes in states.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the operations, logistics, and governance protocols within state health agencies, including Medicaid and health departments.
  • Minimum of three years of previous direct supervisory experience required, including experience managing performance management processes for direct reports and providing career development advice and counsel.
  • Prior to commencing employment with our organization, candidates for this position who were registered to lobby in any jurisdiction must certify termination of previous registration(s) and provide copies of termination notices with said jurisdiction(s) to our organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience developing and managing productive relationships with a variety of external stakeholders and partners.
  • Seasoned judgment, skilled at making and justifying strategic recommendations and being responsive and clear with colleagues and partners.
