The Opportunity

Oversees large-scale and/or multiple technology initiatives that significantly influence business operations and technology utilized across the organization. Shapes strategic direction and formulates tactical plans with considerable autonomy. Manages sophisticated technical projects from proposal and requirements gathering to project planning and execution, leveraging broad and extensive input from industry and/or business unit subject matter experts.

The Responsibilities

Conducts initial assessments for all technology project requests by evaluating requirements and specifications, conducting tests, and reviewing support and training plans to ensure alignment with organizational priorities, business strategies, and objectives.

Acts as a proactive liaison between project stakeholders and the senior management team to guarantee precise and comprehensive definitions of business requirements and the delivery of business applications.

Identifies, articulates, and documents complex business and technical requirements, processes, and deliverables.

Develops, prepares, presents, and maintains project plans, encompassing staffing needs, cost estimates, detailed budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules.

Conducts project risk evaluations, including identifying key risk factors, proposing effective mitigation strategies, and assigning contingency action plans to both timelines and budgets.

Manages projects and teams by applying established methodologies, utilizing change control templates and processes; tracking time and recording activities using defined scheduling tools; monitoring budgets; coordinating resource acquisition and utilization; serving as a liaison with internal clients and external vendors; and maintaining regular communication with project stakeholders.

Delivers systems on appropriate platforms in compliance with established technology standards, including overseeing testing, executing quality assurance checks, and ensuring that information technology acceptance criteria are met prior to implementation.

The Qualifications

12+ Years Experience

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, along with seven years of experience that includes: project management, enterprise implementation, leadership experience, strategic planning, business acumen, applications development, and change management, or a combination of education, training, and experience.

PMP or equivalent certification is highly preferred.

Knowledge of the following:

  • Application development and project life cycle methodologies and standards.
  • Project selection and approvals; budgeting and business case preparation and analysis; and project initiation and planning, including work breakdown structures and forecasting.
  • Concepts of risk management, issue tracking, change management, and requirements gathering.
  • Information technology support and technical documentation.
  • Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.
  • Business planning and analysis.
  • Project budget interfaces with other accounting systems.

Analysis: Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.

Communication: Clearly convey information and ideas through various media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and aids in understanding and retention of the message.

Exercising Judgment and Decision Making: Utilize effective approaches for selecting a course of action or developing suitable solutions; recommend or take action that aligns with available facts, constraints, and probable outcomes.

Technical and Professional Knowledge: Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; remain current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.

Building Effective Relationships: Develop and utilize collaborative relationships to facilitate the achievement of work goals.
