Position Overview

The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia is committed to delivering high-quality, innovative behavioral health services within a recovery-oriented framework. Recognized as a leader in comprehensive behavioral healthcare, we provide integrated and cost-effective solutions for our clients.

We are currently seeking a Level 2 Substance Abuse Counselor (CADCII) who will play a crucial role in collaborating with both internal and external partners to achieve the objectives of our programs and organization. This position will report to the designated location in Eastman, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and collateral substance abuse services in group settings, adhering to program standards and utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements set forth by relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Support clients dealing with substance abuse issues and assist them in accessing recovery resources.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on substance abuse.
  • Provide individualized counseling sessions as necessary.
  • Complete all required documentation promptly, in accordance with departmental and agency standards.
  • Offer direct and collateral services to drug court participants.
  • Collaborate with local and state judicial systems and probation officers as needed.
  • Maintain professional credentials and fulfill all supervision requirements to uphold certification.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Possession of Level II Clinical Certification(s).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned service area.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • CADC II Certification.
  • Level II Clinical Certification(s) - GACA/ADACBGA Certifications.

** Compensation will be determined based on a combination of qualifications, including experience and education. **


Standard work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as necessary. Hours may vary based on the needs of the individuals served.
