Position Overview:
The main objective of this role is to handle the processing and verification of applications for credit terms, as well as the establishment and maintenance of new accounts, along with the management of closed accounts, third-party collections, and bankruptcies. This position also involves overseeing high-profile accounts receivable and ensuring timely payments without deductions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate credit risks, reviewing credit histories, and recommending adjustments for credit extensions.
- Manage the onboarding of new accounts and ensure proper account maintenance.
- Reconcile account discrepancies, identify errors, and resolve issues related to unpaid invoices, short payments, or deductions.
- Generate credit reports and provide recommendations to management.
- Oversee the processes related to closed accounts.
- Identify and assess credit risks effectively.
- Assist in the management of unclaimed property.
- Handle delinquency issues, removals, and non-sufficient funds.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Credit and Collections is required.
- Familiarity with basic payment terms.
- Understanding of credit regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills being a plus.
- Experience with automated accounting systems is essential.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP software is advantageous.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Frequent hand movements for phone and computer tasks.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 15 pounds.
- Some standing and walking required for various tasks.
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk or workstation.
- Minimal bending or squatting may be necessary.
- Occasional stair climbing may be required.
