Position Overview

The Maintenance Team Leader oversees the daily functions of the Maintenance Department and its personnel; this includes managing responses to all urgent and emergency tasks within the week, planning future work schedules, and ensuring the completion of current assignments. This role also involves supervising technicians and assigning their respective tasks or work orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and engage in established best practices through Management System initiatives, including ISO and KORE Standards.
  • Contribute to Key Business Indicators as defined by local leadership and Maintenance System Requirements.
  • Deliver ongoing technical and proactive system-based training that enhances "Best in Class" Customer Service, boosts Asset Reliability, and minimizes unscheduled downtime due to maintenance planning issues.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement Processes and Root Cause Analysis to enhance asset reliability and maintain a proactive Maintenance Environment.
  • Oversee and monitor both scheduled and emergency tasks through direct reports.
  • Organize and provide technical, safety, and system-related training while demonstrating strong leadership in technical skills, maintenance scheduling, and Parts Room management.
  • Collaborate closely with the Risk Management Team on Contractor Management Policies.
  • Support all Quality and Food Safety initiatives.
  • Manage smaller in-house and capital projects, coordinating Contractor, Vendor, and Production schedules while assessing the financial impact on various cost centers or Capital Budgeting.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team to achieve results by communicating company objectives, safety protocols, and deadlines.
  • Engage and develop team members through effective performance management, coaching, and training.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies while maintaining a customer-centric approach.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers, PLC Networking, Hydraulics, Electrical systems, and Beverage Equipment Operations and repairs.
  • Ability to manage both in-house and capital projects, considering the scheduling of Contractors, Vendors, and Production tasks and their financial implications.
  • Flexibility in work schedule is required, including weekends and holidays, to meet consumer demand and project needs.
  • Work environment may involve elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Some outdoor work may be necessary to address facility maintenance needs in varying weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of 2 years of education beyond high school in a college or technical program.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or up to 3 years of college or technical training.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Food Processing, Beverage, Dairy, or Brewing Industries.
  • Experience in a Proactive Maintenance System environment is preferred.
  • Possession of a 2-year degree in a technical field such as engineering or equivalent.
  • Trade Schooling is preferred.
  • Direct experience troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
