Job Summary

Gannett Fleming is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Inspector Transit and Rail to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing electrical inspections for transit and rail projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of contractors' performance and progress, including delivery of materials.
  • Track and document field conditions that require deviation from drawings, communicating with the Resident Engineer as necessary.
  • Monitor, inspect, and document the progress and quality of all aspects of construction.
  • Coordinate with various trades to ensure overlapping work is properly managed.
  • Ensure safety and environmental standards are met, coordinating with relevant entities as needed.
  • Compute estimates of work completed and verify contractors' applications for payment with the Resident Engineer and Office Engineer.
  • Examine workmanship of completed construction for conformity to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Resident Engineer.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or NICET-II certification in electrical or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience on rail projects.
  • Experience working with local rail clients (Amtrak, MTA, NJT) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer systems and software for documentation and data management (ASITE, Procore, Ebuilder, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license and access to motor vehicle transportation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including varying shifts (day, evening, overnight, weekends).
