About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Inspector II to join our team at the City of Nampa. As an Electrical Inspector II, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the development and implementation of policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of electrical systems and installations to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Provide effective professional liaison between the Department and other City Departments, representatives from public agencies, area businesses, and the public.
  • Compose and prepare correspondence, memos, reports, and other materials related to inspections.
  • Perform inspections for non-permitted work and dangerous building conditions.
  • Interpret and apply departmental or office rules, policies, and regulations under prescribed procedures and guidelines.
  • Respond to citizen complaints related to field inspection activities.
  • Develop, analyze, and defend program documentation, project reports, and legal positions associated with the codes, policies, and ordinances.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Current State of Idaho Journeyman License.
  • AIEI Electrical Inspector Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months from hire date.
