Role of the Certified Nursing Assistant

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will deliver hands-on care to residents, complete assigned duties, and help maintain a positive atmosphere for our residents. Working collaboratively with other care providers is essential to offering compassionate service.

Your Responsibilities Include:

1. Deliver resident care under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, assisting with personal care and dining support while respecting resident dignity and rights.

2. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) according to care plans and accurately document the care provided.

3. Execute assigned restorative procedures and support resident activities.

4. Monitor resident conditions and promptly report any changes to nursing leadership.

5. Take vital signs, respond to requests, and provide emergency first aid and CPR if certified.

6. Contribute to safety and infection control measures.

7. Assist with general cleaning tasks and maintenance.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant course and passing the State Certification test within four months of employment.
  • Minimum of three months' previous nursing assistant experience in long-term care.
  • Basic knowledge and skills in care tracking systems.

Potential Career Advancement:

Progress from the Certified Nursing Assistant role to positions such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Staffing Coordinator, Central Supply, LPN, RN, or Staff Development Coordinator within Prestige Care.
