RN Opportunity with Behavioral Health at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC) in Christiansburg, VA
As a registered nurse with Carilion Clinic, you will be part of a team that consistently delivers the best in care and customer service, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with our patients, their families, visitors, and with each other.
The registered nurse assumes primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages, utilizing delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Conducting age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, documenting and using them to develop a plan of care.
Collaborating with members of the healthcare team, patient, and family to develop, implement, and evaluate an age-specific interdisciplinary plan of care, revising it according to changes in patient status.
Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to achieve optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages as appropriate to the service area.
Accurately administering and documenting treatments and medications for patients of all ages using automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
Requirements:
Education:
Graduate of a school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
Licensure/Certification:
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. Obtain CPR, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
Other:
Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC). Successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Meet essential job functions.
