About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to join our Technology Strategy and Operations team at Sallie Mae. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of our technology and data strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technology and Data Strategy
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology and data strategy that aligns with our business objectives and goals.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technology and data initiatives.
    • Lead the development and implementation of technology and data roadmaps.
  • Business Management
    • Provide strategic guidance and support to our business leaders on technology and data-related matters.
    • Develop and manage budgets and resource plans for technology and data initiatives.
    • Lead the development and implementation of business cases for technology and data investments.
  • Communications and Stakeholder Management
    • Develop and implement effective communication plans to engage stakeholders and promote our technology and data strategy.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and vendors.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to our leadership team on technology and data initiatives.
  • Vendor and Contract Management
    • Develop and manage vendor relationships to ensure alignment with our technology and data strategy.
    • Lead the development and implementation of vendor contracts and agreements.
    • Monitor and report on vendor performance and compliance.
  • Capacity and Demand Management
    • Develop and implement capacity and demand management plans to ensure alignment with our technology and data strategy.
    • Lead the development and implementation of resource plans and budgets.
    • Monitor and report on capacity and demand trends.
  • Process, Risk, and Controls
    • Develop and implement processes and controls to ensure alignment with our technology and data strategy.
    • Lead the development and implementation of risk management plans.
    • Monitor and report on process and control effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in technology and business management, with a focus on strategy and operations.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience in developing and implementing effective communication plans.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in developing and implementing business cases and resource plans.
    • Experience in vendor and contract management, with a focus on developing and implementing effective vendor relationships.
    • Experience in capacity and demand management, with a focus on developing and implementing resource plans and budgets.
    • Experience in process, risk, and controls, with a focus on developing and implementing effective processes and controls.
