Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at Navajo Technical University. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Veterinary Technology/Veterinary Teaching Hospital department, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Front Desk Operations
    • Welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
    • Answer incoming calls professionally and respond to inquiries.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Admit and discharge patients, create invoices, and fill prescriptions.
    • Screen calls and correspondence, sort and route mail.
    • Prepare various administrative documents, such as reports and presentations.
  • Financial Management
    • Coordinate purchase requisitions and assist with accounts payable.
    • Maintain financial records and budgets.
  • Communication and Liaison
    • Act as liaison for students, staff, and faculty.
    • Assist with payroll, student organizations, and scheduling.
  • Office Maintenance
    • Maintain filing systems and office equipment.
    • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Associate's Degree in Business or related field.
  • Experience
    • Three years of administrative or secretarial experience.
  • Certifications
    • Administrative Assistant certificate preferred.
  • Skills
    • Knowledge of office practices and equipment.
    • Skills in operating business computers and software.
    • Organizational and coordination skills.
    • Database and records management skills.
    • Ability to create and edit written materials.
    • Ability to make administrative decisions.
    • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
