Job Overview

The role of the Breach and Attack Simulation Engineer at Toyota Tsusho Systems is pivotal in supporting our Regional Security Operations initiative. This position involves executing offensive security measures to facilitate the development and management of ongoing threat-based scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee continuous threat-based scenarios aimed at validating or enhancing security frameworks.
  • Employ offensive tools and custom scripts to automate workflows and simulations effectively.
  • Generate metrics and reports that demonstrate the integrity of security structures and progress in threat coverage.
  • Collaborate with Detection Engineers to analyze simulation outcomes, leading to the creation of detections and alerts.
  • Provide training to Analysts on techniques utilized and alerts generated through both automated and manual simulations to enhance blue team triaging.
  • Work alongside Cyber Threat Intelligence and other departments to address emerging threats for emulation and assessment.
  • Participate in red/purple team exercises.
  • Monitor and maintain awareness of security tool coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in offensive security with a strong interest in developing and automating workflows and simulations.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as C and Python.
  • Comprehensive background in offensive security practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of EDR, AV, Firewall, and Email Security tools.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to articulate security concerns and their implications clearly to diverse audiences.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Breach and Attack simulation tools (e.g., AttackIQ, Caldera, Atomic Red Team).
  • A robust understanding of the necessity for continuous security infrastructure testing.
  • Experience with security write-ups and automation projects.
  • A commitment to personal growth and a high standard of expertise in addressing cybersecurity challenges, utilizing platforms like HackTheBox and TryHackMe.
  • A blue team perspective and experience is advantageous.
