Job Title: Suicide Prevention Grant Program Counselor

At Veterans Inc., we are committed to providing supportive services to veterans and their families in New England. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Suicide Prevention Grant Program Counselor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Suicide Prevention Grant Program Counselor will be responsible for assisting qualified veterans in researching and applying for resources through the VA and other federal, state, or local programs. This role will also involve working closely with the veteran's assigned multidisciplinary team to provide timely, appropriate, and veteran-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterans in researching and applying for resources through the VA and other programs.
  • Liaison between Veterans Inc. and the VA or community medical clinics.
  • Work with the veteran's assigned multidisciplinary team to provide timely, appropriate, and veteran-centered care.
  • Develop and maintain positive, effective relationships with providers, physicians, family members, and clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a non-profit environment.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in case management, substance abuse prevention, outreach, and/or services to the homeless or veteran populations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with veterans preferred but not required; sensitivity to veterans-related needs and issues.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
  • Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.
