Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Counselor II to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our Clinical Stabilization Services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their path to recovery.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assess and document needs assessments, negotiate treatment plans, and complete program notes to ensure continuous quality management.
  • Collaborate with treating psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Lead recovery-oriented groups, implementing best-practice approaches to group development and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and outreach to community-based residents to enhance successful treatment episodes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as substance use disorder intervention and prevention, psychology, or human services.
  • Compliance with regulations for DMH, HUD, DSAS, and DPH MAP Certification.
  • Ability to submit to a CORI and DCF/CPS background check and meet agency standards for qualification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as a CADAC or LDAC II.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for extended periods, move about the space, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
