We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist (MLT/MT) to join our team at MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc. This role demands a high level of expertise in performing diagnostic testing as per physician orders under the Clinical Director's supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and motivate team members to foster a positive and effective departmental environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest concepts and ideas in the field through continuous learning and professional development.
- Perform venipuncture proficiently across patient ages, ensuring specimen quality and accuracy.
- Conduct accurate testing in designated departments and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to SOP for quality control, document corrective actions, and make informed decisions about patient results.
- Process proficiency samples, document critical values, and maintain confidentiality when releasing results.
- Participate in competency testing and professional development activities to stay current with industry standards.
- Maintain certification and actively participate in inservice education and meetings to stay informed about best practices.
- May include training new employees or students in laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Utilize computer and LIS system effectively to manage workload and ensure efficient operations.
- Collaborate positively with patients, visitors, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Support the Medical Center's mission and maintain consistent attendance.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management.
- Registered MLT/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT or equivalent) or eligible within six (6) months.
- Proficient in operating laboratory instruments and interpreting results.
- Effective communication skills with patients, medical staff, and customers.
- Capable of catering to patients of all ages and understanding their needs and limitations.
- Familiarity with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work within set guidelines.
