Key Responsibilities
  • Establish departmental objectives and lead the technical and infrastructure strategy for the engineering division.
  • Collaborate with product management to determine and prioritize key product development initiatives and timelines.
  • Direct the software architecture strategy to create a platform that is robust, efficient, and highly scalable.
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle, setting immediate goals while aligning with long-term company objectives.
  • Work closely with product and operations teams as well as company leadership to ensure the technology platform evolves to meet business demands and technological advancements.
  • Ensure alignment with key business stakeholders, effectively managing resources and removing barriers to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage daily operations of both local and offshore development teams.
  • Guarantee timely and budget-conscious software delivery while fostering innovation to meet customer expectations.
  • Mentor and develop technology team members to enhance career growth and retention.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within engineering and technology strategy.
  • Over 10 years of experience leading engineering and technology teams, ideally in a high-growth tech environment.
  • Background in SMB lending, payment processing, financial services, or core banking is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SSAE 16, SOC 2, or similar certification processes is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience working with executives and product managers to define and execute product strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage offshore technology development teams.
  • Experience overseeing cloud operations for reliability, scalability, and security, particularly in AWS.
  • Expertise in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding engineering talent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated sense of accountability; driving initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in modern technologies, including Angular, .Net, Apex, Salesforce, AWS, and JIRA.
  • Willingness to collaborate and contribute actively to team efforts.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent project planning, time management, and collaboration skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
