This is a senior leadership position that reports directly to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Chief Accounting Officer, your duties will encompass:

  • Overseeing all financial operations of the organization, including billing, financial reporting, general ledger management, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition.
  • Collaborating with external auditors to address all audit-related matters and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the preparation of annual financial statements in alignment with U.S. GAAP and other necessary supplementary schedules.
  • Ensuring adherence to all SEC reporting obligations, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings, as well as proxy statements.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a thorough job cost system.
  • Directing the organization’s financial planning and budgeting activities.
  • Establishing and managing financial controls in accordance with the company's policies.
  • Communicating financial metrics to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Overseeing the organization’s transaction processing systems.

Qualifications:
To qualify for the Chief Accounting Officer position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; an MBA or Master's degree in Accounting is highly preferred.
  • An active CPA certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Prior experience in public accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating with external auditors and managing SEC reporting.
  • Strong understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with public company transformation (IPO).
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
