Job Summary

The Production Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of production schedules, aligning supply and demand to meet customer requirements and drive business success.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain a valid production schedule, balancing supply and demand to optimize resource utilization and efficiency.
  2. Review production schedules and material receipts to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize resource allocation.
  3. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve conflicts and ensure capacity and material constraints are managed effectively.
  4. Communicate production commitments to stakeholders, including sales, customer service, logistics, and engineering teams, and maintain relevant metrics.
  5. Manage scheduled and manufactured item attributes, such as lead times, stocking levels, and GOP rules.
  6. Monitor WIP variances and work with manufacturing, production, and inventory teams to ensure timely and accurate work management.
  7. Coordinate customer change order requests, including those from outside warehouses and overseas facilities.
  8. Provide support to business projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, scheduling, and purchasing procedures, as well as MRP systems and supply chain best practices.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 2+ years of supply chain experience or manufacturing experience in an MRP environment.
Education and Certifications
  • A.S. degree or higher in business, management, or supply chain required. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • APICS certification or ongoing education preferred.
Work Environment

Work is typically performed in a standard office environment. The candidate should be able to perform the job tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.
