As a Combat Engineer with the Army National Guard, you'll play a vital role in ensuring mission success by providing critical support to your fellow Soldiers in unpredictable environments. Your expertise will be essential in designing and building bridges, roadways, and defensive positions, as well as detecting and safely neutralizing mines and other dangers.
Key Responsibilities- Construct fighting positions, fixed/floating bridges, obstacles, and defensive positions
- Place and detonate explosives
- Conduct route clearance operations to ensure safe passage
- Basic demolitions and explosive hazards
- Constructing wire obstacles and fixed bridges
- Urban operations and heavy equipment operation
Through your training, you'll develop the skills and experience to excel in a civilian career in construction, building inspection, and engineering. You'll learn to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing situations.
Earn While You LearnIn the Army National Guard, you'll earn a regular paycheck while learning valuable skills. You'll receive comprehensive training, including 10 weeks of Basic Training and 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Your on-the-job training will consist of hands-on work in various construction projects.
