About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled NDT Level II - Ultrasonic Specialist to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Non-Destructive Testing team, you will be responsible for performing ultrasonic inspections on various spaceflight systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform immersion, contact, and phased array ultrasonic inspections on spaceflight systems
  • Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to safety and specification requirements
  • Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawings or shop work orders
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly process control checks
  • Document and organize inspection results
  • Interface with employees to describe inspection results
  • Provide guidance to other inspectors
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience as a certified Level 2 in immersion and/or phased array ultrasonic (UT)
  • Experience performing ultrasonic (UT) thickness measurements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to support Monday – Thursday, 1st Shift with occasional overtime
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in ultrasonic inspection of composites
  • Level 2 or substantive experience in eddy current (ET)
  • Level 2 or substantive experience in radiography (RT)
  • Experience in low rate high mix production environment, preferably in aerospace
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, additive manufacturing, forging, casting, and composites fabrication
