KBR is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

This role will focus on the integration of software applications for space vehicles within a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will play a crucial part in ensuring seamless software implementation and testing across various stages of development.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and execute the integration of software onto space vehicles and enterprise systems, including comprehensive testing procedures.
  • Review and evaluate developers' test strategies, plans, scenarios, and transition plans to ensure thoroughness and alignment with project objectives.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation, traceability of requirements, and conduct rigorous reviews of all testing activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and leadership to maintain schedules, track progress, and achieve project goals.
  • Apply your expertise in capabilities, requirements, and mission objectives to guide the systems engineering process, encompassing requirements gathering, architectural design, analysis, and testing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (STEM preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience working on government acquisitions within the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with developers, customers, directorate/office representatives, and system engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in executing and managing end-user requirements gathering and curation activities for application development.
  • Ability to clearly articulate requirement definitions and their dispositions to senior government leadership.
  • Working understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or knowledge of Agile Development techniques and related issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute to requirements development activities within teams.
  • Proficiency in identifying key technical risk areas and translating them into program impacts.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree (STEM)
  • Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Engineering applications and technology.
  • Proficiency in MS Project; experience with Jira is a plus.
  • Experience with National Reconnaissance Office RFC, CM, and RIO management.
