Work Environment
The Signals Intelligence Systems Acquisition Directorate (SIGINT) is poised for groundbreaking advancements in SIGINT collection and exploitation through innovative overhead collectors. The Discovery Systems Program Office (DSPO) focuses on enhancing capabilities, distributing functions across orbital layers, and ensuring collaborative efforts during both peacetime and conflict.

The DSPO Mission Systems Integration (MSI) Division is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee a diverse team of government and contractor personnel engaged in space systems engineering and integration. This role includes managing major design reviews, requirement verification, risk management, and technical analysis to support design decisions. The incumbent will guide technical aspects of contract actions, proposal evaluations, and performance assessments while collaborating with industry and government teams to resolve engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities
As a Space Systems Integration Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising technical support engineers and managing their efforts.
  • Directing Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) and Systems Engineering Technical Advisory (SETA) personnel to address priorities effectively.
  • Overseeing the design, fabrication, integration, and testing of ISR payloads throughout the acquisition process.
  • Leading industry and government teams to resolve payload development issues and ensure timely delivery.
  • Preparing and evaluating design specifications and related documentation.
  • Executing actions for complex activities involving advanced technologies.
  • Providing recommendations to senior officials regarding program execution.
  • Assessing the value of new technologies and strategies.
  • Serving as a technical authority and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR).
  • Managing lifecycle cost, schedule, and technical performance risks.
  • Conducting technical analyses to validate product performance.
  • Evaluating project effectiveness and participating in integration and launch operations.
  • Acting as an expert consultant on programs affecting national interests.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Professional Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Expertise in multidisciplinary engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to lead complex projects with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in program management or technical management.
  • Familiarity with DoD and Intelligence Community operations and policies.
  • Understanding of intelligence satellite systems.

Additional Information
  • Overtime may be required, including evenings and weekends.
  • Travel may be necessary for temporary assignments.

  • Certification requirements may apply for certain positions.
  • Geographic mobility may be necessary for mission effectiveness.
