Position Overview


The Aquatic Invasive Species Inspector role is essential for safeguarding our water resources by inspecting and educating the community about the dangers posed by invasive aquatic species. This position involves adhering to established protocols and enforcing relevant state laws while conducting comprehensive inspections of watercraft at designated access points.


Inspectors will engage with the public, providing valuable information and resources regarding invasive species, while performing inspections on both incoming and outgoing watercraft. Additional responsibilities include assisting with educational outreach and participating in various natural resource initiatives.


Work Schedule: Opportunities for both full-time and part-time positions are available, with flexibility for weekday and weekend shifts.


Ideal Candidates: This position is well-suited for individuals such as students, educators, and those aged 55 and above.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inform the public about the Aquatic Invasive Species program and ongoing environmental concerns.
  • Distribute educational materials and pamphlets.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of watercraft for invasive species.
  • Perform verbal surveys to gather information.
  • Document inspection findings accurately.
