Job Summary

The Watercraft Inspector position is a critical role in the Waterfront Restoration LLC team, responsible for inspecting watercraft to prevent the spread of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species in Minnesota's waters. Inspectors will complete training on MN DNR protocols and be authorized to enforce MN State Aquatic Invasive Species laws while performing thorough inspections at public water access sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educate the public on the AIS program and current issues.
  • Distribute literature and pamphlets to raise awareness.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of watercraft for invasive species.
  • Document inspection activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices for inspecting watercraft.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work odd hours and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and move about the boat launch area with ease.
