About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team at Volvo Group. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our heavy equipment and related machinery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work safely at all times, adhering to all Company policies, procedures, standards, and values.
  • Diagnose, test, and repair heavy equipment and related machinery, utilizing comprehensive knowledge and proficiency.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics on Volvo product lines and systems, demonstrating a thorough understanding.
  • Complete and submit work orders and warranty claims in a timely manner, providing detailed descriptions as directed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing equipment problems and offering solutions to customers.
  • Verify equipment functionality after repair, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Offer telephone support to customers, performing troubleshooting as directed.
  • Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) diligently, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, as directed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Perform overtime and occasional overnight work, as needed, to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain and secure all necessary tools, ensuring their proper use and care.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working on construction-related equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer software, particularly Microsoft products.
  • Valid California Driver's License and a good driving record.
  • Frequent travel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing, with frequent stooping, bending, crouching, and overhead reaching.
  • Occasional lifting, pulling, carrying, or pushing objects or materials over 50lbs, and frequent lifting, pulling, carrying, or pushing objects or materials up to 30lbs.
  • Work in a loud, noisy, and dusty environment, with occasional exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $51.00, with bonus eligibility. The final salary offered will be determined by factors including geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience, with consideration for pay equity and internal equity of our current team members.
