Job Summary:

Mission Landscape Companies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of landscape equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements. Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues with our equipment.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure all equipment is in good working condition and make necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of replacement parts and equipment, ensuring that all necessary supplies are on hand.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Communication: Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical systems and ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
Education and Experience:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. automotive, mechanical engineering) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazardous conditions.
