Position Overview: Operating Room Technician - Non-Certified

  • The Operating Room Technician is an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential technical support during the perioperative phase under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse, adhering to established clinical standards of care.
  • Responsible for preparing surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and the operating environment to maintain a sterile field.
  • Coordinates the handling or disposal of surgical specimens and related materials.
  • Assists in managing the inventory of sterile supplies.
  • May participate in the transportation of patients as needed.

Position Details:

Location: St Anthonys

Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Shift Hours: 8-hour/10-hour/12-hour Shifts

Weekend Work: Occasionally required

On Call: Yes

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or a military/hospital-based training program with a minimum of 5 years of acute care Surgical Tech experience.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient understanding of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile field preparation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
