Position Overview

The Logistics Coordinator is accountable for delivering proactive and exceptional customer service to designated accounts. This role involves assisting with the scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments, managing invoices, and addressing inquiries related to work orders, shipments, and inventory counts. The Coordinator will also help implement company standards for quality, safety, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and agents.
  • Serve as a liaison between the warehouse and customers to address operational needs and resolve discrepancies.
  • Foster productive relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Oversee all aspects of assigned orders, including entry, scheduling, communication, tracking, and documentation.
  • Adhere to company SOPs and quality assurance processes for all customer and warehouse activities.
  • Support the onboarding process for new clients.
  • Maintain records of damages, backorders, and necessary regulatory reports.
  • Identify and propose process enhancements.
  • Coordinate with billing staff to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Monitor project KPIs and recommend training and problem resolution strategies.
  • Participate in internal and external customer meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High School Diploma required; a college degree or relevant coursework in Logistics and Transportation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or completion of relevant courses.
  • Ability to supervise a team of 5-15 members.

Skills and Abilities

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Knowledge of inventory management and warehousing practices.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems.
  • Strong mathematical and financial accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules as needed.

Physical Requirements

Employees in this role may be required to:

  • Stand, walk, sit, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Lift and move items up to 49 pounds unassisted.
  • Work in a cubicle environment with moderate noise levels.
