Position Overview
Wayman Fire Protection is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Fire Safety & Life Safety Outside Sales Specialist to oversee our operations in the Southern Delaware and Eastern Shore regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments to collect essential information for proposal development.
- Foster new client relationships while nurturing existing accounts.
- Leverage your sales expertise to proactively identify, pursue, and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients through networking and referrals.
Qualifications
We are looking for an individual who is adaptable, driven, and possesses a strong desire for achievement. Our compensation package includes:
- Uncapped commission structure

Sales Activities
- Present and promote the company's fire protection and life safety solutions to both new and existing clients.
- Identify and reach out to prospective customers.
- Achieve established sales targets within specified timelines.
- Provide estimates for smaller projects and manage larger projects ranging from $100k to $1MM+.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints effectively.
Customer Engagement
- Schedule follow-up meetings to keep clients informed about ongoing developments.
- Create compelling sales materials for client presentations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, general contractors, and end users.
Technical Proficiency
- Interpret and understand plans and specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including design, materials, fabrication, equipment, permits, subcontracts, consulting fees, and installation labor.
- Negotiate and finalize pricing and terms of agreements.
Compliance and Collaboration
- Stay informed about local and national codes, specifications, and guidelines established by relevant authorities.
- Participate in pre-bid, pre-construction, and post-project meetings.
- Meet productivity and timeline objectives for bids produced.
- Assess customer needs and devise a sales strategy to enhance understanding of company offerings.
- Ensure sufficient sales closure to surpass sales plan objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
