Job Overview
This role is pivotal in steering the Analytics, Data Science, Systems, and Process functions within Inventory Management and Merchandising Planning. The incumbent will lead and cultivate a team by setting a clear vision and strategic goals aimed at achieving exceptional sales performance, optimized landed margin, and enhanced on-shelf availability. Responsibilities include systems development, advanced data modeling, simulation, process enhancement, automation, and project management, all with a strong customer-centric approach across various channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine upstream Supply Chain and Merchandise applications, focusing on assortment optimization, channel segmentation, demand forecasting, replenishment, allocation, and store communication.
- Utilize advanced inventory management techniques, including optimization algorithms, statistical analysis, regression, simulation, and programming languages (SQL, Python, etc.), to enhance sales and on-shelf availability through effective forecasting and advanced analytics.
- Monitor and drive inventory quality metrics such as on-shelf availability, in-stock levels, days of supply, safety stock, excess inventory, clearance, and vendor performance in collaboration with broader Supply Chain and Merchandise teams.
- Create visualizations, reports, and insights across all facets of Inventory Management using various Business Intelligence tools.
- Enhance inventory deployment and accuracy in a multi-channel environment to improve fulfillment acceptance, thereby boosting service levels and profitability.
- Lead internal project management teams to establish ROIs, prioritize initiatives, define scope, and deliver on Inventory and Merchandise planning projects.
- Employ continuous improvement methodologies to streamline processes and workflow management, delivering higher quality results in a timely manner while reducing workload.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance, and SSC functions to ensure alignment of long-term strategic, S&OP, and tactical plans, identify opportunities, and promote operational excellence.
- Oversee new store openings, emergency responses, and store communications.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Merchandising, Analytics, or Data Science.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Supply Chain Management, Merchandising, or Applied Mathematics is preferred, alongside experience in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Inventory Optimization, and Assortment Planning applications. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Working Conditions
- Duties involve frequent alternating between standing, walking, bending, stooping, and sitting throughout the work shift.
- Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movements may be required.
- Work environment includes typical warehouse conditions such as room temperatures, lighting, and standard equipment.
- Extensive travel by car or plane may be necessary (75-85%).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Capability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, drive a vehicle, and reach overhead.
