Seafood Department Lead

At Kroger, we're committed to providing exceptional customer experiences and creating a safe and clean environment for our customers to return. As a Seafood/Lead Clerk, you'll play a vital role in directing and supervising all functions, duties, and activities for the Meat/Seafood department.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain a positive and respectful work environment among associates.
- Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
- Collaborate with associates to achieve company/store goals and promote teamwork.
- Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
- Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to the food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
- Monitor and control expenses for the department.
- Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note any discrepancies in inventory.
- Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
- Familiarity and compliance with all country of origin labeling and regulations.
- Plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process.
- Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Current food handlers permit once employed.
- Possess adequate knife handling skills and knife speed.
