Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
  • Implement the pre-construction quality plan
  • Obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits
  • Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses
  • Develop and maintain material tracking lists, project test and inspection listings, and concrete placement logs
  • Create, oversee, and distribute contract documents
  • Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including RFIs and correspondence
  • Lead all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program
  • Implement three-phase inspection systems
  • Handle submittals, including setting up registers, obtaining customer/architect approval, and preparing project-specific transmittal forms
  • Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
  • Effectively work and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years of related experience
  • Current driver's license
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
  • Active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
Working Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and outdoor weather, as well as indoor and climate-controlled settings.
