Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The role of the Financial Operations Manager is to serve as the financial authority for the Baltimore Aircoil Company's facility. This position will collaborate closely with the plant leadership to ensure optimal financial performance, focusing on cost management, identifying avenues for enhancing profitability, and spearheading specific financial initiatives. The individual will also hold comprehensive financial accountability for the site, which encompasses internal controls, budgeting, financial forecasting, and capital expenditures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary financial representative and a key member of the facility's leadership team.
  • Oversee the site’s income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow management.
  • Be responsible for the financial reporting processes at the site.
  • Manage inventory levels and material usage, ensuring effective controls, including conducting physical inventories and implementing cycle counting.
  • Monitor labor productivity metrics and assist in enhancing operational efficiencies.
  • Lead cost accounting efforts and synchronize these processes with the broader finance team.
  • Guarantee adherence to internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements, including providing training to plant staff and supporting audits.
  • Analyze monthly financial outcomes and collaborate with plant management to foster improvements.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and the annual financial plan for the facility, supporting the Sales & Operations Planning process.
  • Oversee the Capital Expenditure process, including tracking, forecasting, and justifying projects while monitoring their benefits.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at reducing costs and enhancing productivity as necessary.
  • Assist other facilities in improving their financial performance and control measures.

ROLE CONTEXT

The Financial Operations Manager will report directly to the Finance Director. This position will require significant interaction with Corporate Finance, Operations, and various other departments within the organization. While primarily based at the facility, occasional travel to other company locations may be necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or CPA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong background in cost accounting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with business systems/ERP, preferably SAP.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements.
  • Experience collaborating across various business functions in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing opportunities.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
