Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The primary aim of this role is to serve as the financial expert for the Baltimore Aircoil Company's operations. The Site Financial Controller will collaborate closely with the plant leadership to enhance the financial health of the facility by analyzing cost structures, identifying avenues for improved profitability, and spearheading specific financial initiatives. This position will encompass comprehensive financial oversight for the site, including responsibilities for internal controls, budgeting, financial reporting, and capital expenditures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the principal financial representative and integral member of the plant leadership team.
  • Oversee the management of the site’s income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Be accountable for accurate financial reporting for the facility.
  • Supervise inventory management and material usage, ensuring effective controls are in place, including regular physical inventories.
  • Monitor labor productivity and reporting, contributing to operational efficiencies.
  • Lead cost accounting efforts and coordinate with the broader finance team.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements, including training staff and supporting audits.
  • Conduct monthly financial analysis and collaborate with plant management to drive performance improvements.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and the annual financial plan, supporting the Sales & Operations Planning process.
  • Manage the Capital Expenditure process, including tracking, forecasting, and justifying projects.
  • Initiate and drive cost-reduction and productivity enhancement projects as necessary.
  • Assist other facilities in improving their financial performance and control measures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role will report to the Finance Director and will require frequent interaction with various departments, including Corporate Finance and Operations. The position is based at the manufacturing facility but may involve occasional travel to other company locations.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or CPA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong background in cost accounting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple business functions in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and propose effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The physical demands of this position require the employee to stand and walk for significant portions of the day. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds may be necessary, along with limited travel requirements.
