Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison to act as a crucial bridge between our company and healthcare professionals. As a key member of our team, you will provide scientific and medical support for our products, share valuable insights internally, and build long-term relationships with key opinion leaders in the optometry and ophthalmology communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, and healthcare organizations, acting as a liaison between our company and the eye care community.
- Serve as a scientific expert on our products and therapeutic area, providing medical information through interactions, presentations, and conferences.
- Gather and share meaningful insights with internal stakeholders.
- Address inquiries from healthcare professionals related to our products, clinical trials, and medical literature.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial, to support product development and launch.
- Provide medical education and training to internal teams, serving as a medical expert within the company and community.
- Stay updated on advancements in the medical and eye care field, including competitor activities and clinical trials.
- Contribute to the creation of medical resources such as slide decks and publications.
Travel Requirements: 60% or more travel within the territory, as well as attendance at national, regional, and local conferences/events.
Qualifications:
- Expertise: Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively delivering scientific and medical information to various audiences.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory and nationally as needed.
- Strong understanding of clinical research methodology, biostatistics, and regulatory requirements.
- Education & Experience: Advanced degree (OD, MD, PhD, or equivalent) in life sciences is required. Previous experience in ophthalmology as an MSL or a related field is preferred.
Salary Range: $195,000 - $210,000
