Job Overview

Porzio Bromberg & Newman seeks a highly skilled Government Affairs Associate to provide strategic support in our Trenton, NJ office. The ideal candidate will have excellent organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills, with a keen understanding of NJ Statehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and monitor legislative committees and meetings of executive branch entities;
  • Draft documents related to these activities, including testimony, bill summaries, and analysis;
  • Provide proactive stakeholder identification and attend client meetings with directors and vice presidents;
  • Support team management, including scheduling, agenda development, and ELEC reporting;
  • Coordinate public relations, grassroots advocacy, and campaign coordination efforts, including member outreach, subject matter education, and positive messaging;
  • Assist with traditional media services, including letters to the editor, op-eds, editorial board meetings, press conferences, and social media services.

Requirements:

  • B.A./B.S. in Law, Security Studies, Political Science, or related field;
  • Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical skills;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under time pressures and work independently and in a team environment.
