Role Overview
Engage with both local and global collaborators to effectively design and implement control systems for cutting-edge production lines that create transformative products, as well as improve existing systems.

Starting salary range: $90,000 - $115,000 USD
Compensation is based on experience, skills, and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to planning and executing complex systems and projects, including vendor research, technical specification creation, and project timeline management.
- Support the controls aspect of internal or external projects.
- Ensure compliance with engineering practices in line with government regulations and safety standards.
- Implement and maintain hardware and software for PLC, CNC, and HMI controls.
- Manage device-level networks and support servo and VFD hardware/software.
- Oversee manufacturing monitoring systems, focusing on integration with higher-level systems.
- Apply processes and standards tailored to project needs.
- Assist in funding planning and tracking for overarching projects according to company funding principles.
- Identify project shortfalls and develop effective countermeasures.
- Utilize project management tools to oversee tasks and ensure timely completion.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and monitor market trends.
- Schedule work according to established priorities and resolve issues to maintain project timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with unionized hourly and skilled trades workers.
- Provide regular updates and presentations on project status to management.
- Represent the Manufacturing Engineering team professionally in various projects.
- Maintain regular communication with the global Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Apply control technologies to enhance existing processes and develop optimal manufacturing solutions.
- Assist in specifying and managing control designs for new manufacturing equipment.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing operations as needed.
- Participate in design reviews with suppliers to ensure optimal equipment design.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience required.
- Willingness to travel, including international travel (approximately 10%).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for articulating technical information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to oversee the work of tradesmen and contractors.
- Capability to provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and other departments as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in project management or supervisory roles.
- Global project experience.
- Ability to identify problems and procedural inconsistencies, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience with new product launches or machine retrofits.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for controls-related drawings.
