Job Summary

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Unit Coordinator - Administrative Support. This is a part-time position working every other weekend and holiday, with hours from 7am-3:30pm. The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience in an administrative capacity in an acute care setting.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for transcribing physician orders, maintaining patient charts, and coordinating communication between nursing staff, patients, and families. You will also assist with orientation of new employees and perform other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe physician orders accurately and notify appropriate nursing staff
  • Maintain patient charts, including updating forms and ancillary department reports
  • Coordinate communication between nursing staff, patients, and families
  • Assist with orientation of new employees
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent computer skills, preferably with MediTech
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience in an administrative capacity in an acute care setting
  • Great interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with patients, visitors, medical staff, and physicians

Estimated Salary Range

$40,000 - $50,000 per year
