We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Technician to join our team at SOS International LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, update, and maintain medical records for patients, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Verify and process medical documentation, including laboratory and radiology reports.
- Route clinical reports to appropriate staff members and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Review and correct documentation inconsistencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient medical records, adhering to HIPAA and Privacy Act regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a medical record technician or similar position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance and pre-employment medical clearance.
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish preferred.
- Prior experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Must be able to respond to medical emergencies and perform CPR/emergency care as needed.
