Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, update, and maintain medical records for patients, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Verify and process medical documentation, including laboratory and radiology reports.
  • Route clinical reports to appropriate staff members and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Review and correct documentation inconsistencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient medical records, adhering to HIPAA and Privacy Act regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a medical record technician or similar position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance and pre-employment medical clearance.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Prior experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting preferred.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Must be able to respond to medical emergencies and perform CPR/emergency care as needed.
