Position Overview

This role requires overnight/3rd shift availability.

The Floor Care Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the training and development of the floor care team. Candidates should possess experience in various floor care techniques, including hard floor maintenance, carpet cleaning, and terrazzo polishing, along with the ability to perform minor equipment repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct the operations of the floor care team, ensuring effective supervision.
  • Coordinate and evaluate staff performance in alignment with company policies.
  • Distribute work assignments among team members efficiently.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all necessary paperwork and reports by supervisors.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and meetings to enhance safety protocols and compliance.
  • Oversee performance reviews, onboarding, and terminations of staff.
  • Implement corrective actions and provide positive reinforcement as necessary.
  • Promote and embody the company’s culture and values.
  • Maintain open communication with management and supervisory staff to address any issues.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents involving employees.
  • Safely operate all cleaning equipment and train others in its proper use.
  • Ensure adherence to customer specifications for floor care cleaning.
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of all operational equipment.
  • Possess a solid understanding of maintenance for various types of carpet and hard surface flooring.
  • Follow directions and complete assignments as instructed.
  • Schedule and manage periodic project work.
  • Supervise training programs for both new and existing employees.
  • Instruct staff on effective cleaning methods and equipment maintenance.
  • Address and correct any deficiencies in performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Operations Managers.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree or High School Diploma; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in janitorial services or a related field.
  • Proven experience in floor care.
  • Strong organizational, customer service, and management skills.
  • Able to thrive in a diverse work environment.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in customer service and computer applications, including Excel, Word, and email platforms.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds regularly.
  • May require prolonged sitting during travel and administrative tasks.
