Position: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Role Summary: As the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, you will oversee the seamless management of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role entails supervising the materials department and its personnel, ensuring that all products are received, stored, and dispatched in a systematic and timely manner.

Work Environment: Warehouse, Office & Production Floor

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's Degree in Logistics, Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in receiving and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP Software systems, with a preference for NetSuite.
  • Able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of achieving results while balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and employee morale.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including team motivation and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as mandated by company safety standards.
  • Forklift certification is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure drivers depart with the necessary shipping documentation.
  • Utilize a warehouse management system to prepare accurate bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
  • Supervise staff engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders for the scheduling of goods pick-up and delivery.
  • Inspect the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment regularly.
  • Audit shipping orders and quantities to ensure they align with picking documents.
  • Conduct interviews, selections, and training for warehouse personnel.
  • Implement corrective actions for employees, including counseling and disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies related to shipping and receiving.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate processing of all incoming shipments.
  • Oversee and train staff effectively.
  • Participate in cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor the accuracy of receiving records, including inventory and stock levels.
  • Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.
  • Identify and address any receiving and inventory discrepancies.
  • Adhere to all food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
