These solutions are crucial for the delivery of Blue Origin rockets and systems. We are in search of a candidate who can leverage their extensive controls engineering knowledge, leadership capabilities, and commitment to excellence to enhance and scale automated manufacturing processes at Blue Origin. A passion for our mission and vision is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the integration of new automated machinery into the manufacturing framework at Blue Origin.
  • Modify electrical systems related to industrial control and safety mechanisms.
  • Debug and adjust PLC and robotic programming.
  • Assist in the commissioning of SCADA applications (e.g., Ignition, Kepware, AWS).
  • Provide production support for advanced manufacturing equipment.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with standard automation control systems (e.g., PLCs, Robots, CNC).
  • At least 3 years of experience in controls and automation software development environments (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Control Logix).
  • Proven ability to interpret and evaluate electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Strong aptitude for design and process optimization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating clarity and humility in interactions.
  • Understanding of top-tier quality standards, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to build trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and enhance our culture of inclusivity.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or legally admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Familiarity with various control system and equipment safety standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06.
  • Experience in writing and developing software in high-level programming languages such as Python or C#.
  • Knowledge of NC programming for automated systems, including G-code, TP, Karel.
  • Strong technical writing, grammar, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in electrical verification of machinery.
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and maintaining control code using source control.
  • Hands-on experience with various manufacturing and assembly processes, CNC machinery, metrology systems (laser tracking), and inspection techniques.
