Job Overview: The Cost Control Specialist plays a vital role in managing daily financial operations, which includes maintaining expense records, executing financial transactions, and ensuring accurate postings in the general ledger. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough and timely account analysis, reconciliation, and documentation.
  • Support the Finance Director in the development and evaluation of monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, focusing on performance monitoring and operational analysis to enhance profitability.
  • Maintain and organize accounting records and documentation.
  • Record transactions and classify entries in the general ledger (e.g., assets, liabilities, and expenses).
  • Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for audits.
  • Implement new accounting policies and ensure adherence to regulations (e.g., GAAP, SOX, etc.).
  • Enhance processes and internal controls across all managed areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all responsibilities.
  • Review tax policies and manage tax payments and filings.
  • Report directly to the Finance Director.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel (Intermediate to Advanced level).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to daily changes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Willingness to undergo and pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with financial/accounting software, particularly SAP S/4HANA.
  • Background in public accounting is advantageous.
  • General understanding of financial analytics and dashboards is beneficial.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
Physical and Mental Requirements: The employee is frequently required to remain stationary, communicate effectively, and handle objects or tools. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift packages weighing up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
