Position Overview:

We are in search of a proficient and motivated Cost Estimation Specialist to join our team in the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate comprehensive cost estimates by evaluating plans and specifications, and conducting quantity take-offs for all cost elements, including labor, materials, equipment, and time requirements.
  • Examine and comprehend all bidding documents while assessing project risks.
  • Employ estimating software to compute, maintain, and monitor all project estimates.
  • Prepare and present bids utilizing the "Bid to Win" methodology, ensuring that submissions are competitive, accurate, and timely.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide cost insights regarding project viability.
  • Conduct post-bid evaluations to compare actual project expenses with estimated costs, identify discrepancies, and enhance estimating practices.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, material costs, and competitive pricing to ensure the company's profitability and market position.
  • Maintain a thorough database of current cost information to support precise estimating.
  • Engage in presentations to clients and stakeholders as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related discipline is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in project estimation and "Bid to Win" methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Skilled in utilizing estimating software and technology.
  • Outstanding analytical and mathematical abilities with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the capacity to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and clients.
  • Knowledge of the local construction market, including pricing conventions and trends.
