General Manager Job Description

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring that it is managed in a manner that contributes to the achievement of objectives established through annual operating plans and revenue.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong and effective leadership and management, fostering an environment that encourages contribution by all employees to overall company objectives.
  • Make sound decisions on behalf of iFLY and its team members, working closely with Senior Management to ensure strategic business objectives are achieved.
  • Recruit, hire, and train team members, resolving team member concerns and issues.
  • Supervise customer service staff, call center, instructors, and management team, ensuring public relations and sales are handled in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Oversee daily operations, including managing daily flight and staff schedules, monitoring flight manifest to ensure maximum occupancy, and ensuring safety of operations and team members.
  • Manage and maintain daily reporting, prepare payroll and timekeeping reports, and check POS close outs and cash drops.
  • Manage budgets, profitability, and Profit & Loss margins, controlling operational expenses and improving profit margins where possible.
  • Ensure that facility is clean inside and outside, and participate in proactive incentive programs, reward schemes, and team building events.
  • Work with Sales Manager on statistics and success of sales promotions, assist in short- and long-term sales and marketing strategies, and help evaluate effectiveness.
  • Implement sales promotions and initiatives, set up product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential, and research, evaluate, and recommend enhancements to constantly improve the customer experience.
Requirements:
  • 5 years (plus) experience in management, including strong program marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated strong team leadership and development ability.
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database management, content management systems, and desktop publishing applications are essential.
  • Project management and multi-tasking skills are a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as creative writing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in generating presentations and proposals.
Education Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Recreation, Facility Management, or a combination of experience and education a plus.
  • Education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform duties.
