Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service experiences.
  • Guide customers in selecting products that meet their specific needs.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to the care and handling of all animals.
  • Manage cashiering responsibilities efficiently.
  • Support the store in achieving its sales objectives.
  • Ensure that products are adequately stocked and accurately priced.
  • Follow established operational protocols and store policies.
  • Address customer inquiries and escalate to management when necessary.

Accountability:

The candidate must consistently fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ensure the health and welfare of live animals by adhering to established care standards, including regular health checks.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all stakeholders, prioritizing company interests.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service by identifying customer needs and utilizing product knowledge to recommend suitable merchandise.
  • Demonstrate expertise in nutrition and membership programs to enhance sales.
  • Facilitate an outstanding customer experience across all service channels.
  • Conduct all point-of-sale transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and returns.
  • Assist in maintaining store organization and merchandise presentation.
  • Complete cash register transactions and assist customers with their purchases.
  • Adhere to loss prevention protocols.
  • Support the loading, unloading, and stocking of merchandise to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Ensure that store animals receive the highest quality care in a clean and secure environment.
  • Promptly notify management of any animal requiring medical attention.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks to uphold the store's professional appearance.
  • Assist in store opening and closing procedures, including necessary paperwork.
  • Participate in inventory counts as required.
  • Promote a safe and healthy environment for all team members and customers.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

None.

Work Environment:

This role primarily involves indoor tasks, although some activities may require brief outdoor engagement. The position necessitates physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 lbs and moving heavier items with equipment. Adherence to safety protocols is essential to prevent injury.
