Job Title: Systems Administrator

At Benton Franklin Health District, we are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, support, and administration of our core systems and related peripheral systems, applications, network, and databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, network, input/output fleet, and workstations.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform and test routine system backups, restores, and network and security audits.
  • Deploy workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems.
  • Support the ISS Team throughout project lifecycles.
  • Analyze systems, servers, applications, networks, and input/output device performance.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of application procurement development efforts.
  • Create required reports in response to business user needs.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system administration.
  • Provide continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
  • 5 years applied technical experience or 10 years directly related experience in network administration, system software and hardware installation and maintenance, problem resolution, troubleshooting.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of appropriate auto insurance.
