Carpet and Floor Care Specialist - Facilities Management

As a key member of our facilities management team, the Carpet and Floor Care Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position is essential in upholding the standards of cleanliness and safety within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

In alignment with a comprehensive cleaning strategy, the Carpet and Floor Care Specialist is responsible for executing both general and specialized cleaning tasks. The role encompasses a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
  • Thoroughly cleaning restrooms to ensure operational efficiency, including all fixtures and surfaces.
  • Maintaining hallways, entrances, staircases, and elevators, including vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets and upholstery.
  • Cleaning and mopping floors, ensuring all areas are free from debris and dirt.
  • Managing the cleanliness of administrative offices, laboratories, and classrooms, including litter removal from designated areas.
  • Utilizing supplies and materials efficiently to support departmental resources.
  • Requesting necessary supplies and materials while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors regarding supply needs and offering suggestions for improved cleaning practices.
  • Safeguarding assigned keys and equipment, ensuring their secure return at the end of each shift.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Prior experience in custodial services is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license from the relevant jurisdiction is required.
  • Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate custodial issues clearly to supervisors and complete training in cleaning protocols.


Work Environment
