As a key member of our facilities management team, the Carpet and Floor Care Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position is essential in upholding the standards of cleanliness and safety within our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
In alignment with a comprehensive cleaning strategy, the Carpet and Floor Care Specialist is responsible for executing both general and specialized cleaning tasks. The role encompasses a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
- Thoroughly cleaning restrooms to ensure operational efficiency, including all fixtures and surfaces.
- Maintaining hallways, entrances, staircases, and elevators, including vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets and upholstery.
- Cleaning and mopping floors, ensuring all areas are free from debris and dirt.
- Managing the cleanliness of administrative offices, laboratories, and classrooms, including litter removal from designated areas.
- Utilizing supplies and materials efficiently to support departmental resources.
- Requesting necessary supplies and materials while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors regarding supply needs and offering suggestions for improved cleaning practices.
- Safeguarding assigned keys and equipment, ensuring their secure return at the end of each shift.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Prior experience in custodial services is advantageous.
- A valid driver's license from the relevant jurisdiction is required.
- Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to articulate custodial issues clearly to supervisors and complete training in cleaning protocols.
Work Environment
